Technology National Institute (INT) brought to the event a white light scan device which can capture the image of a face or even a body frame and reproduce it in 3D. Visitors could interact with the machine and have their images scanned.
INT also presented a special suit with sensors that captures motion in real time projecting an image on a big screen; the special suit emits, via telemetry, waves that reproduce the image of the moving body. The athlete Luana Alzuguir (Jiu Jitsu three-time world champion) was the subject of the suit test.
INT's objective is to use this experiment in sports to study motion in more details and help the search of moving excellence. Every athlete has in mind the curve of his/her movement, the depth, space, dimension and perspective and telemetry assists the fine tuning of the process.
Interviewed by the end of the presentation, the athlete talked about the relevance of technology in sports and the influence of these means in her training. According to Luana, "To be a champion you need to train hard always", demonstrating how welcome the tool is.
